How It Works

Transparent, on-chain prediction pools on Shido: WSHIDO for bets, SHIDO for gas.

The Prediction Pool — Step by Step

1. Pick Your Outcome

Before kickoff, choose Home Team Win (home), Draw, or Away Team Win (away) and place at least 10,000 WSHIDO. WSHIDO is the wrapped form of SHIDO and tracks SHIDO 1:1 on the same chain. Keep SHIDO in your wallet for network gas. Your funds are sent directly to the smart contract and never held by us.

2. Bet Until Kickoff + Cancel Window

Bets remain open all the way until kickoff. You can cancel your bet at any time up to 6 hours before kickoff. Once inside the final 6 hours, your bet is locked in and cannot be cancelled. A 10% cancellation fee is applied on any cancelled bet and sent to the treasury wallet; the remaining amount is returned to the bettor.

3. Status Moves Through Resolution

Match status moves from OPEN to LOCKED to RESOLVED (or CANCELLED when needed). After full-time, admin confirms API-Football results and submits the final outcome on-chain.

4. Winners Claim Their Share

Once the match is marked RESOLVED on-chain, winners can claim directly from the contract. Payout is proportional to your winning stake versus the total winning pool, and WSHIDO is sent directly to your wallet.

Core Rules and Status Flow

Payout Formula

Every pool uses parimutuel odds. There are no fixed odds or bookmakers. Instead, all bets go into one pool and winners split the total pot proportionally.

Total Pool   = All bets (Home + Draw + Away)
Platform Fee = Total Pool × 2.5%
Prize Pot   = Total Pool − Platform Fee
Your Payout  = (Your Bet ÷ Winning Pool) × Prize Pot

Worked Example

  • Total Pool: 100,000 WSHIDO
  • Home bets: 60,000 · Draw bets: 25,000 · Away bets: 15,000
  • Result: Home Team Win (home)
  • Platform fee: 100,000 × 2.5% = 2,500 WSHIDO
  • Prize pot: 100,000 − 2,500 = 97,500 WSHIDO
  • You bet 10,000 WSHIDO on Home (out of 60,000 total Home bets)
  • Your payout: (10,000 ÷ 60,000) × 97,500 = 16,250 WSHIDO

You risked 10,000 and won 16,250, a 62.5% return. If fewer people picked the winning outcome, the return is even higher.

The House Fee (Vig)

2.5%

Platform fee: 2.5% of the total pool

Deducted only after the match is resolved and visible on-chain.

  • The fee is configured at 2.5% for the live World Cup arena.
  • Fee is sent to the treasury wallet upon match resolution.
  • If a match is cancelled, there is no resolution fee. Cancel penalties only apply to user-initiated bet cancellations before the cutoff.
  • 97.5% of every resolved pool goes directly to winners.

Verified Smart Contract

Our PredictionArena contract is deployed on the Shido blockchain and fully verified. Anyone can read the source code and confirm exactly how funds are handled.

Non-Custodial Escrow

We never hold your money. All bets are sent to and held by the smart contract. Payouts go directly from the contract to winners' wallets. No middleman, no withdrawal requests, no delays.

Immutable Rules

The fee percentage, payout formula, and escrow logic are baked into the smart contract code. They cannot be changed for an active match after bets are placed.
